John was the son of Abner and Hannah Wasson and a retired farmer. He was a life-long resident of the Elm Springs Township. John is survived by two sons, Homer of Stafford, Kansas and Grattan of Elm Springs; four grandchildren and sever great-granchildren; two sisters, Mrs Mary Reed of Springdale and Mrs Sarah Greathouse of Clovis, N.M. He was an uncle of Marion Wasson of Fayetteville and Rev. Alfred Wasson of Dallas, Texas. John is also survived by his wife Laura E Delozier Wasson, whom he married in Washington Co on 13 Dec 1882 (Washington Co Marriage Book G, pg 335).
