Splendid Woman Succumbs to Illness at Daughter's Home Tuesday - Last Rites Thursday
News of the death of Mrs. Kate Glass, 73 years of age and widow of Henry Glass whose death occurred 21 years ago, was received in Tipton Tuesday evening. Mrs. Glass, who had been in failing health for some time, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L.M. Smith in the Shiloh community southwest of Tipton.
Funeral services are to be held at the Shiloh church Thursday morning at 10:30 and burial will be in the Bethsadia cemetery.
Mrs. Glass was one of the splendid Christian women of this community whose passing is a matter of general regret. She formerly resided in Tipton on North West street and spent some time in Michigan after the death of her husband.
Three children, Mrs. L.M. Smith, at whose home she died; Roma Glass, of the Windfall community, and LeRoy Glass, of Moscow, Idaho, survive. One son, Clarence, died in infancy, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Cora Henderson, also is deceased. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mary Underwood, of Battle Creek, Mich., is a sister, and a brother, Samuel Storms, resides in Lebanon. Another brother, James Storms, resides in North Madison. Mrs. Jennie Spurgeon of Hillsburg, is a half-sister, and a half-brother, William Epperson, resides in Tipton.
Mrs. Glass was a long-time member of the Kemp Methodist church of Tipton and a woman who lived a consistent, Christian life. She leaves many friends in this city who will regret much to learn of her passing.
Rev. W.E. Hamilton will have charge of the services at the Shiloh church Thursday morning.
