Roger D. Fobes
Loving Son, Husband, Father, & Brother Roger D. Fobes, 59, of Albion, surrounded by his family, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 29, 2010. He was born July 2, 1951 in Conneaut, Ohio, son of Dale and Lynnette (Godfrey) Fobes of Albion.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon L. Fobes. In addition to his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Merlene M. (Smith) Fobes of Albion, whom he married December 1, 1979, two daughters, Cassandra Tarquinio and her husband, Nathan, of Monaca, Pa., Tiffany Fobes-Smith and her husband, Brent, of Albion, two brothers, Gary Fobes and his wife, Laurie, and Ron Fobes, all of Albion, and several nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1969. Roger was an avid Hot Rod enthusiast and he enjoyed watching drag racing. For many years he worked on Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and most recently he worked for Rogers Brothers Corporation in Albion as a welder. He loved spending time with his family and all his close friends.
Friends may call at the Mattera Funeral Home, Albion, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Allan Thorpe of Albion Assembly of God Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Albion Cemetery.
