Robert E. McGEE, 79, 2708 Country Club Drive South, Rochester, died at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at Life Care Center of Rochester.

Robert E. "Bob" McGEE, 79, 2708 Country Club Drive South, Rochester, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at Life Care Center of Rochester.
He was born Aug. 3, 1930, in Athens, the son of Harley and Mariam (Barnhisel) McGee. Bob graduated from Akron High School and shortly after enlisted in the Air Force. On Sept. 10, 1956, in Rochester, he married Barbara Stinson, and she survives.
Upon his return from service, he went to work for his father at Rochester Building Service, eventually taking over ownership. He had been a member of the Elks Lodge, Eagles Lodge, Moose Lodge, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts, and had attended First Christian Church, Rochester. Throughout Bob's early years he enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing; however, as the years progressed golf became his main interest.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Barbara McGee, Rochester; a son, Michael McGee and friend Sharon Grimm, Rochester; a daughter, Patricia and husband Ed Carroll, Daleville; and grandchildren Morgan McGee, Rochester, and Nathaniel Carroll and Danielle Carroll, both of Daleville.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Marcia Wertzberger.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, Rochester, with Dick Enyart officiating. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery, Rochester, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Rochester American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts.
