10 Feb 1914: James E. Wirt, a widely known contracting plasterer, died at 11:40 o'clock, Monday night, at the Wirt residence, 401 South Twelfth Street, Heights, from Bright's disease, following an illness if five weeks. Mr. Wirt had been seriously ill for some time and those who had been watching at his bedside and ministering to the needs of the patient were prepared in a measure for the end, which nevertheless is a crushing blow to the family and a source of keen regret to a large circle of business associates and friends. He leaves his wife, who was Miss Dora Boger, daughter of Thomas M. Boger, and three children, Prosper D., Isabel and Adeline, all at home. His mother, Mrs. Daniel Wirt, and the following brothers and sisters also survive. Charles Wirt, this city; Aaron Wirt, Alabama; Mrs. William Schreffler, this city; Mrs. Grant Bright, Harrisburg; and Mrs. Irwin Henning, of this city. He was an active member of the Salem U. B. church and held membership in Patmos Commandery, Knights of Malta; Lebanon Council, Modern Woodman of America, and the local Order of Fraternal Americans. The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the house, with services at two o'clock In Salem U. B. church and interment on the Ebenezer Cemetery. [Lebanon Daily News]
