Mrs. Elenora Kriz Passes Away After A Short Illness
Funeral Services Held On Monday Afternoon
The community was saddened Friday when it became known that death had claimed Mrs. Elenora Kriz at 5 o'clock that morning. Though long a sufferer of diabetes, complications hastened her death after all that loving hands could do to save her.
Elenora Kriz nee Jakl was born in Krisovdove, Caslav, Czechoslovakia on April 19, 1869. She came to America when but a small child, a year and a half old, in company with her aunt, to join her parents after they had settled in Omaha. Years later they moved to a farm in Saunders county, and here it was that she met her husband and they were married on August 26, 1888.
Shortly after their marriage they moved to the vicinity of Dodge and settled on the farm in Dodge County which is across the road from the one now being farmed by their son, Vincent. The buildings on this farm have long since been removed.
In the year 1916 after years of fruitful labor they retired from active farming, moving to the present home in Dodge. Her husband, the late Anton Kriz, died October 29, 1924.
Surviving her are her son, Vincent and two daughters, Mrs. Elhard Janecek, Dodge, and Rose, at home. The memory of her dutiful, patient life service will continue to live on in the hearts of her friends and neighbors as well as her children.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. B.A. Filippi of Clarksob at the home Monday at 1:30 Interment was in the Bohemian National Cemetery.
