On Sunday "noon" November 29, 1925, God saw fit to call from this world another one of our beloved citizens, a physician and confederate soldier; Dr. H. B. Boddie. He was laid to rest in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Tallassee, Nov. 30th.

Born Russell County July 25th 1846 to Mr and Mrs. J.J. Boddie. When he was a small boy they moved to Elmore County where he lived and grew to manhood.

Dec 9th, 1872 he married Miss Irena Sarah Delony and to this union 9 children (6 boys and 3 girs) were born. Irena died July 25th 1901. Since that time, four of his children have departed this life

2. Mrs. Mae Baker
3. Charlie Boddie
4. Clifton Boddie
A few years later he was married to Miss Warren, who soon departed this life and on the 4th day of Dec. 1911, he was married to Miss Narcie Reeves.

Dr. Boddie practiced medicine for over 50 years. He was described as “faithful in discharging his duties to suffering humanity, a true and faithful Christian, a very sympathetic man and it was his whole desire to speak words of comfort to everyone he met.
He leaves to mourn his loss four sons and one daughter:
1. Bascom J., of Atlanta, GA.;
2. Ada V., of Lanett, Ala.;
3. Eugene of Tallassee, Ala.:
4. Cary, of Tallassee, Ala.;
5. Mrs. Cora Baker, of Wetumpka,
