He was born in Ohio and lived most of his life near Dixon, O. He moved to Monroeville 10 years ago. Mr. Purk was a retired railroad man.
He is survived by his wife, Isabell; two sons, William R., Van Wert, O., and Otto R., Monroeville; two daughters, Mrs. Sylvia M. Kelly, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Flossie Gaskill, Monroeville; 16 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Marquart-Painter Funeral Home, Monroeville, and at 2 p.m. at the Dixon Methodist Church. The Rev. Edwin Jaycox will officiate, with burial in the Monroeville IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today.
