Obit: ROBERT J. OWENS, a well known resident of the South End, passed away at his home on So. Lansing St. yesterday (Tuesday) after an illness of short duration. He had a host of friends who will mourn his death. The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon from his late home.

For many years he had conducted a harnessmaking establishment in the South End. He was a veteran of the Civil War and was highly respected by all who knew him. 5/16/1899 - The remains of Robert J. Owens will be taken from the receiving vault in the Rural cemetery and interred in family lot, Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
