Flint Journal - November 4, 1996

GEISTER, Milo A. Of Clio, age 88, died Saturday, November 2, 1996 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 11AM Tuesday, November 4, 1996 at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas G. Bradley officiating and burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 12-8PM. Mr. Geister will lie in state at the church from 10AM until service time. Memorials may be made to the Endowment Fund at Bethany United Methodist Church. Milo was born November 25, 1907 in Argyle, Michigan, the son of Alvah S. and Maggie (Gorrie) Geister. Milo graduated from Roscommon High School in 1924 and moved to Clio in 1925 where he resided until his death. Milo married Dorothy E. Anderson on August 11, 1934 in Linden, Michigan and she preceded him in death on September 4, 1991. Milo attended GMI for three years and worked for Chevrolet Motor for 36 years, retiring from Supervision. Milo was a member and President of the Clio Half Century Club; member and Past President of the Flint Travel Club; member of Bethany United Methodist Church, where he served on several boards and as Trustee for 12 years; member of the Flint Industrial Executive Club for 14 years; served on the Vienna Township Zoning Board for several years and the Township Board of Review for 20 years; chaired the committee that consolidated the Clio Area School district and worked on the committee that organized the Genesee Intermediate School District; served on the Clio Board of Education for 11 years; served on the Genesee County Board of Education for 6 years, 5 as President; was a member of the NCHA, Chapters #184 and #190. Milo enjoyed a number of hobbies including woodworking, gardening, hunting and fishing, travel, also public service and helping community development and improvement. Surviving are: daughter, Mrs. Martin B. (Gail E.) Wildfong of Gladwin; grandchildren, Brett M (Sarah) Wildfong of Clare and Krista M. Wildfong of Traverse City; nephews, James Geister and Kirk (Cheryl) Geister, both of Clio.
