Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church in Borger with the Rev. Calvin Newton, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Mark Stripling of Quanah, Texas.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Stinnett under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
A retired Phillips Petroleum Company Exploration and Production division mechanic, he was a native of Milligrove, Texas, and a Borger resident since 1936.
Mr. Sargent was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Borger.
Survivors include his wife, Oleta Sargent of the home; three sons, Jimmie C. Sargent of Stinnett, Darrell Sargent of Skellytown and Wayne Sargent of Amarillo; five sisters, Lula Smith of Paris, Texas, Annie Jenkins, Inez Stone and Alice Melton, all of Amarillo, and Pearl Gibson of Amarillo; a brother, Buck Sargent of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
