Mrs. Clara Lee Hodge, 72, of Headwaters died Tuesday (Feb. 8, 1972) at Kings's Daughters' Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born May 23, 1899 at Headwaters and was a daughter of Arlie J. and Susan (Crummett) Botkin. She was a member of the Headwaters Presbyterian Church and the church circle and had been Sunday school superintendent for several years. Surviving are her husband, Archie A. Hodge of Headwaters; a son, Russell A. Hodge of Staunton; a brother, Russell Botkin of Beckley, W.Va.; seven sisters, Mrs. Lelia Kuech of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Comilla Miller of Augusta Springs, Mrs. Reba Varner and Mrs. Blanche Hoover, both of Staunton, Mrs. Buelah Gutshall of Hot Springs, Mrs. Lucy Kelley of Newport News and Mrs. Lula McKinney of Baltimore, Md.; four half-brothers, Gary and Delmar both of Staunton, Dalton of Churchville and Allie J. Botkin Jr. of Bridgewater; a step-mother, Mrs. Carrie Botkin of Parnassas; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
