FOUND IN BURNING HOME

In Lorain, Mrs. Lottie M. Bailey, 80, was found at 6:45 am yesterday on the floor in the kitchen of her burning home at 226 Georgia Ave. Her clothes had been burned away. She was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Joseph Hospital.

Fireman said they found the woman, a widow, in front of the stove. They thought perhaps she was about to prepare breakfast and had caught her clothing in the flame from the stove. It was possible, they said, that she suffered a heart attack after her clothes began burning.

Mrs. Bailey was to have left the house at 7 am with a nephew, Foster Armstrong, 5473 East Lake Rd, to visit a daughter, Miss Lucille Bailey, Lansing, Michigan. She was to have gone there for Christmas. Another daughter , Mrs. Evelyn Augustine, lives in Livingston, MOntana.

A neighbor, Jack Tillack, 234 Georgia Ave, discovered the house afire, and called for help. Fireman said damage was about $10,000.

Mrs. Bailey, whose husband Charles, died in 1951, had lived in Lorain for 50 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Queen City Chapter, and the Delaware Avenue Methodist Church.

Funeral services are to be held at 1 pm Wednesday at the Reichlin Cooly Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
