Mother of Bonham City Manager Dies in Clarksville


Mrs. J. L. Fisher, 95-year-old mother of Grady Fisher, City Manager of Bonham, died at the home of her son, C. M. Fisher, in Clarksville at 1 a. m. Saturday, April 2, 1960. Mrs. Fisher had been in declining health for a number of years.


Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Leesville Baptist church, near Clarksville. Interment will be in the Leesville cemetery with the Jolly Funeral home directing.


Survivors other than the two sons, Grady Fisher of Bonham and C. M. Fisher of Clarksville, are a daughter, Mrs. Leonard Cole of Clarksville; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.


A native of Tennessee, Mrs. Fisher was born in January 1865. she was the former Miss Emma Vernetta Swain, and had lived in Clarksville many years. She was a member of the Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her husband about 20 years ago.
