Lance Cpl. Timothy M. Jackson, 22, of Corbin, Ky., died Sept. 30 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C. He leaves behind his wife Nichole A. Jackson of Jacksonville, N.C.; his father Tim Jackson and step-mother Lorrie Johnson of Williamsburg, Ky.; his mother Jody Tonkin and her special friend Billy Bowers of Corbin; four brothers and their spouses, Barry and Megan Powell-Jackson, of Ft.
