OBITUARY OF D.C. AYERS

Dewitt Clinton Ayers was born in Litchfield, N.Y., April 15, 1838 and died April 27, 1921. He was a member of the G.A.R. having enlisted as a private in 1862. He served three years in Co. H, 30th Wisconsin Infantry and was discharged September 30, 1865 under Captain Andrew Bedall. He was married September 16, 1866 to Miss Emma Covey. Eleven children were born to this union.

He is survived by his wife and three children. Fred Ayers of Lincoln, Mrs. Mildred Blakeman, North Platte and Ben Ayers of Minden. Services were conducted at the residence April 30, by Rev. I.C. Rankin, pastor of the United Presbyterian church, assisted by the ladies of the Circle and also at the cemetery under the auspices of the G.A.R.
