Mrs. Mary Baker Halliday, 81, Murray, died at her home Saturday at 12:30 p.m. after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Halliday was an active worker for many years in Murray Second ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held many positions in ward auxiliaries.
She was born June 11, 1869, at Minting, Lincolnshire, England, a daughter of Joshua and Lucy Hinch Kime. When she was 13 she became a member of the L D S church. In August 1887, she was married to Thomas Baker in England. The couple moved to Utah in 1888. Mr. Baker died in 1891.
She was married to Edmund H. Halliday in October, 1895, at Murray. He died in 1918. Mrs. Halliday for many years was president of her ward relief Society; was secretary and president of the ward Primary Assn., the Young Women's Mutual Improvement Assn., and for several years was a visiting teacher.
Survivors include a son, William K. Baker; Murray; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret E. Larsen, Ogden; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth E. Elieson, Salt Lake City; 24 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Murray city cemetery.
