Levi was a very humble man. He never left the home of his parents. He never married. But every nephew and niece has a favorite story to tell. Many of them say that he was the one who kept them alive through the tough times when food was scarce.Levi worked on the L & N RR and loved to tend a garden. Nieces, Lillie Deaton and Haney Norman, were staying with Pap & Mammy Strong and when they died they stayed on with Uncle Levi.
They became his children and Haney's children became his Grandchildren. He loved to tell the storys about Breathitt County. He even sang a song about the Strong & Callihans but sorry to say no one wrote it down or recorded him singing it. Rachel Strong Norman is one of his sisters. The man was at peace with the world and the love of Jesus always came through.
