Elbert was the son of Hampton Durrence Sikes & Mary Ann LEWIS (d/o Wiley LEWIS & Rhoda CANNON). Hampton is buried in the Emmaus Church Cemetery, Claxton, Tattnall Co., GA; Sect. C, and Mary Ann Lewis is buried in Brewton Cemetery, Hagan, Evans Co., GA; Section H6 as Mary Lewis Sikes, wife of Hampton Sikes.

Elbert married Mary Emmaline DeLoach on 12 May 1881. Mary Emmaline was a daughter of John Mac DeLoach & Anna Rebecca Smith, who are both buried in the Antioch Church Cemetery, Claxton, Evans Co., GA; Section C.

Elbert and Mary Emma had 12 children. All but two of them are buried in this cemetery. I have ony listed the cemetery names for the one of the two who are NOT buried here; but listed the sections in this cemetery for all the others. I have no information on John Henry other than his dates.
