Edna Jane Hopper Decker, the daughter of Robert A. Hopper and Susannah Tapley Oldham, was born on November 10, 1826 in Kentucky. She was the wife of John A. "Jack" Decker, the son of Barnett "Barney" Decker and Dorcas Smith. At the time of the 1880 Census of Spring Fork, Grayson County, Kentucky the family of the widowed Edna Jane Hopper Decker consisted of: Edny, a house keeper, age 52; and her sons: Thomas, a farmer, age 22; and Samuel H., a laborer, age 17.

Edna Jane Decker died somtime after 1880. She was buried in what is known as the Decker Cemetery located on land owned by Paul Quiggins of Mistaken Creek, Grayson County, Kentucky. Her son Thomas Decker, who was born on October 28, 1857, is also buried in this family cemetery. He died on September 9, 1906.
