She married Samuel A. Dickey on November 27, 1946 at Muskogee, Oklahoma.

In 1971, Lila received a Masters Degree in Education from Southwestern State College at Weatherford, Oklahoma.

OBITUARY

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Lila H. Dickey Conder, 93, of Chickasha, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020 at her home in Chickasha. Lila was born November 17, 1926 in Madison County, Tennessee to Louis Lee and Claudia (Davis) Hudgings.

Lila married Samuel Dickey on November 27, 1946 and moved to Chickasha in 1962. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from OCW and a Master’s Degree from University of Oklahoma in Library Science and a second Master’s Degree from Southwestern (Weatherford).

She taught at Amber-Pocasset High School for 24 years as a Business Teacher before retiring in 1991. Before teaching she had worked for an attorney in Muskogee for four years.

Sam preceded in death in 1990 and on January 27, 1996 she married Delmer Conder.

Lila was a member of the Eastern Star and Oklahoma Teachers Association. She was also a member of College Heights Baptist Church.

She is also preceded in death by a son, Phillip Dickey in 1968; grandson Brian Dickey in 2015 and 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Lila is survived her husband, Delmer Conder, of Chickasha, OK;

Her son, Louis Dickey and his wife, Diana, of Rockwell, TX;

Stepdaughter, Delma Threadgill and her husband Scott, of Chickasha, OK

Grandchildren: Kyle Dickey of Chickasha, OK; Alex Dickey and his wife Whitney; Brian Dickey and Grace Dickey all of Texas.
