Ella Cox, 88, of Wolf Island, Russells Point, a former resident of St. Marys, died at 5:09 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, in Valley Nursing Home at St. Marys where she had resided for the past 4 ½ years.
Retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St. Marys, Mrs. Cox was born Sept. 14, 1898, in Gallatin County, Ky. She was the last of a family of 11, and was preceded in death by six brothers, four sisters, and her parents, Benjamin and Armelda Coleman Hill.
She was also preceded in death in 1949, by her husband, John C. Cox, whom she married Feb. 8, 1913.
Mrs. Cox belonged to the Wayne Street United Methodist Church in St. Marys.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Don (Edith) Foor of St. Marys and Mrs. William (Ruth) Christopher of Russells Point; one son, Joe B. Cox of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were today in the Long and Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys with burial following in the Elm Grove Cemetery.
