Utah Traffic Death Toll
Mounts to 65 for '51

Utah traffic deaths for 1951 reached a total of 65 Thursday with the death of two women. The total compares with 41 in the same 1950 period.

Mrs. Teenie Olsen Brinton, Salt Lake City died Thursday of injuries suffered in an automobile accident Monday, and Mrs. Mildred Johnson, Ogden, died after a head-on collision near Layton.


Mishap Hurts Fatal
To S.L. Woman

Another name was added to Utah's mounting 1951 traffic fatality list Thursday when Mrs. Teenie Olsen Brinton, 75, 869 Logan ave., died at 12:01 a m. of injuries suffered Monday night.

Mrs. Brinton struck her head while entering an automobile at 723 N. 2nd West. The auto-mobile began to move after her fall and the 75-year-old woman suffered multiple rib fractures.

Active in Church
Mrs. Brinton was an active member of Marlborough ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, at the time of her death. She formerly was a member of the Thirty-first ward and served in the Sunday school and Young Women's Mutual Improvement Association. She was counselor in the Relief society four years and served as president 16 years.

A daughter of Elias and Petronella Peterson Olsen, she was born Nov. 30, 1875, in Provo. She was educated in Provo city schools and was a graduate of Brigham Young university.

She was married to Hyrum B. Brinton Nov. 28, 1900, in the Salt Lake L D S temple. He died Dec 16, 1947.

Survivors Listed
Survivors include five sons and daughters: Leonard B., C. Dilworth and Harold B. Brinton, Mrs. Vilate Coshow and Mrs. Ronella Turner, Salt Lake City; Dr. Jay O. Brinton, St. Anthony, Ida., and John W. Brinton, Lyman, Wyo.; a sister, Mrs. Anna Peterson. Salt Lake City, 27 grand-Children and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at 260 E. South Temple, where friends may call Friday from 5 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday prior to funeral. Burial will be in Murray city cemetery.
