John Keck was born October 7, 1847 and died March 16, 1936 being 88 years, 5 months and 9 days old. He professed faith in Christ at an early age and joined the church at Pleasant Point in 1865 and lived a faithful member until his death.
He was married to Mary Ann Houston on April 18, 1869. To this union 8 children were born. He leaves to mourn their loss a wife and six children, Marion Keck of Niata, Tenn.; George Keck of Carryton, Tenn.; Paris Keck and Walter Keck of Goin, Tenn.; Melvina Sweet of Luttrell, Tenn.; and Charity Keck of Goin, Tenn.; also 36 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were held by Rev. Theodore Brantley. Pallbearers were: Pat Keck, Arbra Keck, Edgar Keck, Theodore Walker, Frank and Bill Sweet, all grandchildren.
