Zebulon Thing's company in Lieut. Col. John Brook's 7th regiment and served until 31 Dec 1783, receiving an honorable dishcarge from Gen. Knox after having served over 4 years in the Army.
In the War of 1812, Isaac, with his brother Daniel, Jr., raised the 83rd regiment. Isaac was its colonel and Daniel, Jr. the major, then lieutenant colonel. The regiment served in New York State between Niagra and Platsburg.
