"For the first time she [Via] had a doctor to assist at a birth. As soon as the baby was delivered, Sophia had someone run and get the elder next door, to give the baby a blessing. But when he got there and looked at the infant he said sadly, 'I'm sorry but we don't bless stillborn babies.' The grave of Sophia's sister Christina was opened and the babys casket was lowered into it. The little girl was to have been named Jane Rowan for Will's mother. Cleone [sister] took it very hard and always regretted that her little sister hadn't lived."
