Helen Highlen Dies at Hospital
Mrs. Helen G. Highlen, 39, wife of Daniel W. Highlen of 521
South 13th Street, died at 4 a.m. Monday at the Adams
County Memorial Hospital. She had been ill for the past three
years, and hospitalized for three months.
She was born at Monroe April 22, 1933, a daughter of Floyd
E. and Josephine Karnes-Brandyberry, and was married to
Daniel W. Highlen Sept. 10, 1950.
Mrs. Highlen attended the Friends Church at Monroe.
Surviving are her husband; three children, Daniel W.
Highlen II, Cindy and Linda, all at home; her mother, Mrs.
Josephine Brandyberry of Monroe; one sister, Mrs. Gertrude
Anderson of Monroe, and one brother, Klesson Brandyberry of
Decatur. A brother, Howard, is deceased.
Final rites will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Zwick
Funeral Home, with Rev. Lloyd Roth officiating. Burial will be
in the Ray Cemetery at Monroe. Friends may call at the
funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday until time of the
services.
