George Pat Anderson of Brownsboro, Henderson County, Texas passed away Thursday, 30 October 1980 in a Tyler hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 87.
Mr. Anderson was born on Sunday, 19 November 1893, in Athens, Henderson County, Texas to William Clayton Anderson and Betty Kidd Anderson. He was the first of two children born to this union, and the first Anderson child to pass.
He was united in marriage to Myrtle M Fleming on Saturday, 26 December 1915, in Tyler, Smith County, Texas. Mrs. Anderson preceded George in death on Saturday, 18 March 1928. They were married 12 years. To their union were born three children: daughter Flora Iline Anderson, son Earl Clayton Anderson, and daughter Lena Ruth Anderson.
As a widower, he was united in marriage to Hester Kirkpatrick on Tuesday, 08 October 1929, in Tyler, Smith County, Texas. Mrs. Anderson preceded George in death on Wednesday, 28 September 1977. They were married 42 years. To their union was born one child: son Billy P Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was a life-long resident of Henderson County, and a retired farmer. Mr. Anderson was a member of the Baptist church.
George was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, daughter Lena Ruth Anderson, and infant son Billy P Anderson.
He was survived by son Earl Clayton Anderson of Brownsboro, step-son Noel Gordon Olson of Tyler, Smith County, Texas, daughter, Flora Iline Anderson Cooper of Harleyville, Dorchester County, South Carolina, sister Betty Clara Anderson Eberhart of Dallas, Dallas County, Texas; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Anderson will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, 02 September 1980, at Rock Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Tom Nipp officiating.
Interment occurred at Rock Hill Cemetery of Brownsboro, Henderson County, Texas.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home of 215 East Front Street, Tyler, Smith County, Texas.
