Mrs. Myrl Hood, age 66 of Eufaula died Thursday, November 27, at the Muskogee Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Merritt Funeral Service Chapel. Rev. Lewis Johnston officiated. Burial was in the Mellette Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold Burdine, Noel Holder, Bobby Gray, Leon Burns, Melvin Helms and Melvin Clover.
Mrs. Hood was born in Durant, Oklahoma, March 1, 1920, the daughter of Benjamin Harrison Brackett and Eunice Dolly (Clover) Brackett. She was married to Harry C. Hood, July 30, 1938 in Eufaula. She was a homemaker and member of the Burns Chapel Church of God. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lora Jean Watkins who died in 1984.
She is survived by her husband, Harry C. Hood of the home; a son, Clinton Hood of Bakersfield, California; two daughters, Emma Smith of Cave Junction, Oregon and Donna Davis of Arlington, Texas; three brothers, Leroy Brackett of Bakersfield, California, Thurman Bracket of Cottonwood, California, and Ben Brackett of Redding, California; four half-brothers, Sonny Brackett of Arizona, Earl Brackett of California and Buddy Brackett and Carl Gullet of Oregon; two sisters, Letha Manley of Hughson, California, Ruby Flud of Kerman, California; three half sisters, Christine Thomas of Arkansas, Polly Sealy of Arizona, and Bobbie McCray of California; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
