Nadine Beatrice Young Simmons, of Wallingford, CT, died, Saturday, October 18, 2008, at the Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford, after a long battle with cancer.

Nadine was employed as the Executive Assistant to the Dean of Students at Choate Rosemary Hall for 30 years. After her retirement she continued to serve at the school as a volunteer for many more years and events. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Cheshire and supported the Women's Auxiliary at MidState Medical Center with many hours of service.

Nadine leaves her husband Edwin F. Simmons; her two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Luanne Simmons of Deerfield, MA, and Brad and Kathy Simmons of Holly Springs, N.C; her daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Tom Alouise of South Windsor, CT; her seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main Street, Yalesville section of Wallingford on Wednesday, October 22, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the First Congregational Church of Cheshire, 111 Church Dr., Cheshire, CT 06410. Interment will be at In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford. In honor of Nadine's memory, donations may be made to the Woman's Auxiliary of MidState Medical Center, 435 Lewis Ave., Meriden, CT 06450, or the First Congregational Church of Cheshire, 111 Church Dr., Cheshire, CT 06410, or Masonic Charity Foundation, P.O.
