Frank A. Babcock was the third child of George F. Babcock, a farmer, b. 1825 in Utica, New York and Julia Barker b. Elmira, New York in 1827. His parents lived in Chester, Geauga Co. Ohio and married there in 1845 and settled in Walworth Co.,Wisconsin. The family lived around Honey Creek and Hickory Grove. Frank had four brothers: Henry E., Fred Almond, Walter Scott and Byron Elmer, and a sister, Mary Jane. His family was Free Will Baptist.
Frank worked as a farm laborer for the Neumuth family of Mitchell Co., Iowa and married their youngest daughter, Agnes on 30 Aug 1880 at Osage, Mitchell Co., Iowa. They had at least seven children: William Walter b. 1881, George A. b. 1883-19 Aug. 1885, Cora Mae b. 1885, Clara Belle b. 1887, Fred Leslie b. 1890, Harry Alton b. 1892, and Arthur Eugene b. 1894.
The family lived in Iowa, Minneapolis, Minn., Walworth Co. Wisconsin near his parents, and Pennington Co. S. Dakota.
Frank passed away from Angina Pectoris at age 70 and buried through Galbraith Mortuary.
