Nancy Bishop was born in Knox county Ohio August 2, 1833. She died March 15, 1900 at the age of 66 years 7 months and 13 days. In 1851 she was married to Charles Blanchard. Their home was blessed with seven children, five sons and two daughters. In 1853 Mr & Mrs Blanchard come to Keokuk Iowa where they lived but a short time and returned to Illinois. They came to Iowa again in 1863 to live permanently. After haveing lived in Iowa but four years Mr. Blanchard died at LaPorte, Iowa December 11 1867. In 1872 she married John G Fiss. three children, one son and two daughters were born to them. Departed is the mother of seven children. (ten?) , Seven of whom, five sons and two daugters, survive her. Four sons and daughter were present to the last tribue of respect to a loving mother. Mother Fiss first united with the Methodist church in moving from one place to another, she fellowship with different churches but some two years ago she again formulated her plans to reunite with the Methodist church. She attended while her health and strength permitted.

The community sympothize with the bereaved family. The funeral whas held from the M.E. Church conducted by Rex Stubbs. A large concourse of friends and relatives follwed the the remains to the last resting place in the Garrison Cemetery.

(While her obit. says she is buried in Garrison her stone is in the Gnagy Cemetery. )
