C.O. Bibby, 92, of Springlake, died Monday, September 27, 2010 in Olton. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Springlake Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
Mr. Bibby was born August 1, 1918 in Cumby, Texas to Verlon and Stella Yates Bibby. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Marie McClure in Plainview, Texas on November 9, 1938. She preceded him in death in 1974. On January 9, 1982, he married Melba Morris in Clovis, N.M. She preceded him in death in 1999. He married Lucy Dunaway in Clovis, N.M. on September 29, 2000. She preceded him in death in 2005.
C.O. spent the majority of his life in the Springlake and Olton communities. He loved to farm and served on the Springlake Coop Gin Board. Other hobbies included dancing, playing dominos, and going to horse races.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, LaVerne Fennell.
Survivors include his daughter, Kathy West and her husband, Mike of Springlake, a son-in-law, Dolan Fennell of Springlake, five grandchildren, Lexie Fennell, Rex Fennell, Keta Everett, Keri Whitney, and Krista West. He was blessed with eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Five surviving stepchildren include Gail Morris, Myron Lee Morris, Libbye Morris, Margo Evrenidis, and June Hampton.
