Mrs. Addie Burton died at Memorial Hospital, Menomonie, December 31. Her husband Clarence J. Burton preceeded her in death on November 19, 1931. She had been in ill health for some time and on December 29 was taken to the hospital.

Louisa Adeline Farley was born on December 13, 1872 at Deucher, Ohio. She was the only child of Elizabeth Treadway Taylor and Pearson Farley. She came to Knapp when she was nine years of age.

On March 27, 1893, she was married to Clarence Burton at Knapp. Ten children were born to this union, one daughter died in infancy and a son, Raymond, died in 1936. Eight children survive her, Eva, Mrs. Victor Johnson, Candace, Mrs. Harold Grapes, Carrie, Mrs. Elmer Kussrow, and Leon, all off Knapp; Earl, Downing; Henry and Selden, St. Paul; and Ruth, Mrs. Julius Priem, Barnett. She leaves (44) grandchildren, (15 or 18) great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 4 at the Knapp Methodist Church, the Rev. _______________ officiating. Interment was made in Teegarden Cemetery.

Washington County Births 1867-1876 lists his birth as 1872Dec13, Independance Twsp, with twin Louis A, to Pearson Farley and Elizabeth Treadway.

Louisa was working at a store in Knapp, Wisconsin while dating her husband-to-be Clarence James Burton.

She had sparkling dark (almost black) eyes and darker hair than her husband. She enjoyed knitting. Her favorite "persuader" was a switch from the lilac bush.

Louisa Adeline Farley was buried on January 4, 1949 in the Teegarden Cemetery just outside of Knapp, Wisconsin on US Highway 12.
