Isaac Bowe is the son of Peleg Bowe and Mary Woodward. Many of the early Bowe family tombstones are spelled Bow.
The family got its real start in Middletown, CT. The first known Bowe in America was Alexander Bowe, who is first found in Charlestown, Massachusetts about 1656, and he moves to Middletown in 1658. Alexander had one son Samuel and 5 daughters.
Samuel had three sons who had children: Samuel Jr, Edward and Alexander. This Alexander had a son Peleg who is the father of our Isaac.
Isaac married Elizabeth Lee May 18, 1775 in Middletown, CT and all their children were born in Middletown.
