Funeral for the Rev. Alvie Lee Bishop, 79, Athens, will be today at 2 p.m. at the First United Pentecostal Church with burial in the Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Rev. Bishop died Monday at his residence. He was a minister of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ and a former member of the Athens Board of Education. For 15 years he was an employed by the Athens Housing Authority.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Mask Bishop of Athens; one son, the Rev. Richard Jolly of Ecru, MS; two daughters, Shirley Elders of Athens and Margaret Caltharp of MS; one brother, Jack Bishop of MS; three sisters, Lucille Chunn, Minne Potts and Lucille Mink, all of MS; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
