HIGH POINT, Jan. 6-Watson J. Mabe, 49, died in Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston-Salem Tuesday. He had been in a serious condition for two months. Mabe was native of Danbury and came to High Point 24 years ago from Candor. He was a member of South Main Street Methodist Church, a member of the Big Brothers class of the Sunday school, and of the Men's Club of his church.. For 19 years he was employed by National Upholstery Co.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Louise Wilkes Mabe, of the home at 928 Beaumont Ave. ; three sons, R. Wayne Mabe of High Point, Raymond S. Mabe of the home, and David W. Mabe, of the U.S. Air Force stationed at Vokel in the Netherlands; three sisters, Mrs. J.R. Bennett and Mrs. C.A. Fagge Sr., both of Asheboro, and Mrs. Foy Brown of Troy; eight brothers, Garrell Mabe of Candor, Sandy and Harvey Mabe of Ether, Raleigh H. Mabe of Mooresville, Glenn Mabe of Asheboro, Javan, Vaughn, and Jarvis Mabe, all of Hampton
VA; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in South Main Street Methodist Church by Rev. T. H. Swofford and the Rev. Stanley Earomirski. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
