Services for Sandra Roberts Gravelle, 50, of Winnsboro will be 2 p.m. (today)Wednesday at First Pencostal Church Wisner with the Rev. Larry Eubanks, the Rev. Stan Thrift and Dr. Milton Williams officiating

Interment will follow at Kings Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home Winnsboro.

Mrs. Gravelle died Friday, May 3, 2002 at her residence after a sudden illness. She was a resident of Winnsboroand a 1969 graduate of Wisner High School. She enteredand graduatedfrom Women's United States Air Force training school in Wichita Falls at Lackland Air Force Base; she trained to be an Air Force Communications Technician and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. She served four years in the Air Force and was in the National Guard. She received her undergraduate degree at Northeast Louisianan University in Educationin Monroe. She began her teaching career at River Oaksin Monroewhere she taught for one year. For 21 years, she taught American History, Civics, World Geography, English I, II, and IV and Foriegn Language at Winnsboro High School, beginning in the fall of 1980. She started he Top Kats Dance Team in 1985 and served as a sponsor for eight years. She managed the concession stand for the football team and Senior Class Sponsor for ten years. She was also chairperson for the English Department for 10 years. She was the Beta Club sponsor for 10 years and served as District IX Beta Sponsor. She served on various state committees for the Beta Convention.

She is preceded in death by her only child, the love of her heart, Stormi Gravelle, grandparents Spencer and Myrtis Roberts and Harvis "Bud" Jones.

She is survived by the family she loved dearly -- her parents, Lloyd and Pauline Roberts; grandmother Ruth Jones of Jigger; sister Vickie Head; brothers, Danny Roberts and wife, Lisa; Todd Robets and wife Chris, all of Wisner. She is also survived by nieces Christy Eubanks and husband Brian; Makyla Roberts,"her heart" and Lauren Roberts and nephews Scott Rberts, Desha Roberts, and wife Tori; Dedric Roberts, Landon Head, Tyler, Tanner and Andrew Roberts, along with great-nephews Dylan and Taylor Roberts and Kyle Eubanks.

She is also survived by all her students past and presentof Winnsbor High School, whom will carryon the wisdom of knowledgethe she endeavored to instill in their lives.

Pallbearers will be Larry Roberts, Ricky Roberts, Marty Roberts, Rusty Roberts,Red Roberts, Roy Gonzales, Myles Kiper, and Bubba Jones.

Memorials may be sent to Sandra Roberts Gravelle Memorial Fund at Winnsboro High School, 1600 Glover Drive, Winnsboro, LA 71295.

Friends may call for visitation at the Church on Tuesday, after 6 p.m.
