STAUNTON-Charles Garland Snyder, 46, of 316 Driscoll St., was dead on arrival Thursday night in the King's Daughters' Hospital.
He was born in Churchville Aug. 19, 1937, a son of Mrs. Viola Bell Armstrong Snyder of Fishersville and the late Charles Winston Snyder.
Mr. Snyder was employed in the maintenance department of Augusta County and was a member of the Fishersville Baptist Church.
Besides his mother, survivors include his wife, Mrs. Shirley Crawford Snyder; one son, Charles Raymond Snyder at home; one brother, Bobbie Ray Snyder of Fishersville; one sister, Rachael Snyder Seay of Fishersville; one niece and two nephews.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Waynesboro Chapel of Etter Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. John L. Sullivan. Burial will be in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Robert Kobus, Benny Balser, Bobby Joe Reed, Glenn Mays, Tommy R. Pitsenbarger and Craig Snyder.
Honorary pallbearers wil be Buddy Huffman, Basil Bosserman, Charles Bartley, Andy Wiseman, Keith Fitzgerald, Clarence Huffman, Eugene Fitzgerald, Paul Cline, David Howdyshel and Bob Morris.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 this evening in the funeral home and other times at the residence of his wife's prents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Crawford, 2220 Mt. Vernon St., Waynesboro.
