Walter Henry Boyer, 86, St. Clair, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2004, in Sullivan.
Mr. Boyer was born Sept. 7, 1917.
On Oct. 22, 1949, he was united in marriage to Bessie Thurmond.
Mr. Boyer was a member of Calvary Worship Center, St. Clair.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Boyer; one son, Eddie Boyer; two brothers, Joe Boyer and Tim Boyer; and one sister, Mary Renee.
Mr. Boyer is survived by six sons, Dale Boyer and wife Annie, Bourbon, Walter H. Boyer Jr. and wife Bernadine, Olathe, Kan., Homer Boyer, St. Clair, Ernest Boyer, St. Clair, Richard Boyer, Mineral Point, and Carl Boyer and life partner Claude Denis, St. Louis; two daughters, Mary Jane Keith and husband Gene, Cedar Hill, and Ellen Messex and husband Leroy, New Haven; one brother, Woodrow Boyer, Ironton; one daughter-in-law, Janet Boyer, St. Clair; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friend.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 6, at Midlawn Funeral Home, Union, with the Rev. Randy Stufflebeam officiating.
Interment was in Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Union.
Memorials to the family are preferred.
The Boyer family was served by Midlawn Funeral Home, Union.
