Findlay Man with Canadian Flying Forces Meets Death in England.

Flying officer Gordon B. Booth, 30, of the Royal Canadian Air Force, was killed in action Tuesday, June 16, in England, according to word recieved by his wife, Helen Decker Booth, who lives in McComb, Ohio.

Flying Officer Booth lived in Findlay, Ohio from 1937 to 1939, going from here to North Baltimore, Ohio, where he was living when he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force Sept. 6, 1941. He came to Findlay as field man for the Great Lakes Sugar company at the time of his enlistment. He was a member of Company I , Ohio State Guard, when he was given an honorable discharge.

Flying Officer Booth was graduated as a sergeant air bomber, Oct. 18, 1942 at Winnepeg, Manitoba, and received his commission as pilot officer on Oct. 20, 1942. He was advanced to flying officer, May 20, 1943.

Mrs. Booth and two daughters, Thais, 5 1/2 years old, and Diana 16 months old, went to Winnepeg while Flying Officer Booth took his last six weeks of air observer's school and were there for the graduation ceremonies in 1942.

He was born in Eaton, Colo., Oct. 22, 1912, and was married to Helen Decker, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, June 20, 1936, in Indiana.

He is survived by his wife and two children, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Booth, of Wallaceburg, Ont.; two brothers, Capt. M. L. Booth, of the Royal Canadian Army Medical corps and Lt. B. F. Booth of the Royal Canadian navy, and three sisters, Mrs. Hezel Starks, of Royal Oak, Michigan; Mrs. Mildred Dean, of Wallaceburg, Ont., and Mrs. Gertrude Loudon, of Toronto, Ont.

He was a member of the Knox Presbyterian church in Wallaceburg, Ont.
