Ruth Maria Harper was the daughter of Oliver and Trypheana Stone Harper, granddaughter of the Honorable George and Ruth Woolcott Harper.
She married William Clark Hopkins,son of Benjamin and Mary Reynolds Hopkins, 6-11-1835. She had eight children, Harriet, Josephine, Oliver Harper, William Alfred, Mary Elizabeth, Tryphena Stone, Alexander Hamilton and Samuel Adelbert. They spent most of their married life in NY. In 1865 the family immigrated to Oswego, IL, where his mother and sibblings had settled.
