George Anthony ADDISON, age 83, father of G. L. ADDISON, died Friday, March 05, in Shamrock, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Laura McSPADDEN. He had been seriously ill only a few days, but had been in poor health for several years.
Mr. ADDISON was a quiet, kindly man, ever considerate of others. He had been a resident of the Panhandle since 1903, most of which time he spent in Canadian. He was a photographer of great ability. He worked at his profession until poor health forbade it.
George Anthony ADDISON was born September 21, 1853, in Mississippi. He moved to Texas with his parents when a small boy. He joined the Methodist Church when a young man. He was married to Ann Virginia ATKINSON, January 11, 1879. To this union six children were born. Mrs. ADDISON died November 25, 1908.
Children who survive are: G. L. ADDISON, Canadian; Mrs. Anna May SKEEN, Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Laura McSPADDEN, Shamrock, and Mrs. Mabel BOWEN, Perryton.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon from the Methodist Church, with Rev. A. C. Haynes officiating. Jack Harrington sang a solo. Burial was made in the Canadian Cemetery.
