H. A. Mears, who has been visiting at the homes of Mrs. N. W. Charles and Mr. J. N. Manuel for some two months, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon. He was the father of Miss Florence Mears who was married to Ross Bailey and died some years ago. He has only one child living, a Mrs. Willis Kimball of Rockford, Illinois, who is now visiting in California. He was a retired and wealthy Chicago merchant, a man who stood high in his city. He was about 75 years of age. It is not yet determined whether the body will be buried here or transferred to some other point.
