Dies AT Galveston
George Garfield Shaw, 77, passed
away at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at his
home on route 2, Galveston after
an illness of three weeks.
A retired farmer, he was born
Nov. 13, 1880, in Champaign, Ill.,
the son of Amos and Margaret
(Rhyn) Shaw. His marriage was
on Oct. 26, 1905 to Alpha Brewer,
who survives.
Other survivors include three
sons, Jesse, Logansport; Walter,
Troy, 0.; Amos, Denver, Colo,; six
daughters, Mrs. Mary Darland,
Concord, Calif.; Mrs. Vera Henning,
Key West, Fla.; Mrs. Mabel
Garver,. at home; Mrs. Zela
Crocker, Tophanga, Calif.; Mrs.
Margaret Acampora, Logansport;
Mrs. Lucille Gish, Young America;
21 grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren;
and a sister, Rachael Shaw, Delphi.
A son, Raymond died in 1932.
Friends may call after 7 p.m.
today at the Fisher funeral home.
