Husband of Annie Leotha (Banks) Wilkes.Kibbee Community,
Mr. Edd Wilkes, age 93 of the Kibbee Community, died Monday, February 21, 2011 in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia after a sudden illness. He was a native of Toombs County, and had lived there and in Montgomery County all of his life. He was employed with Oxford Industries as a cutter, and retired as a mailman and courier after fifty years of service. He was a member of the Sharpe's Chapel Methodist Church near Lyons, and attended the Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife Leotha Banks Wilkes, and a granddaughter Janice Mosley.

Mr. Wilkes is survived by his wife Edith Wilkes of the Kibbee Community; six children Edwin Wilkes and wife Jimmie Sue of Lyons, Barbara Mosley of South Carolina, Stan Wilkes and wife Amanda of Baxley, Charles Parkerson and wife Marsha of Vidalia, Ricky Parkerson of Santa Claus, and Donna Unsworth of Camden, South Carolina; twenty grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, twenty-eight great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 24th at 11:00 am in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Gene Helton officiating. Interment will follow in the North Thompson Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
