Albert's parents were Frazier Vandalia Provence and Rebecca (Powell) Laird-Provence. Albert was born in either Titus or Parker County Texas. Albert had one brother John Monroe Provence. Albert was married only once to a Mary Ellen Fogarty. He and Mary had four children together before Albert died. Their children were Rebecca Ellen (Provience) Mayerle, Frashier Monroe Provience, Francis William Province and Arthur Albert Provience. Only the first three children lived to be adults. Arthur Albert Provience was born Sept 27,1884 in Wise or Jack County Texas and he died in 1892 when he was only 8 years old (unknown where he is buried). Two of Alberts and Mary's children spelled their last name different than their dad . Albert M. Provence spelled his last name PROVENCE(per their family bible that I have copies of and sometimes he spelled it Province) but his daughter Rebecca and one of his sons Frashier Monroe Provience spelled their last names Provience. Alberts other son Francis (he was also known as Frank) spelled his last name PROVINCE. We know the exact date of Albert M. Provence's death because we have their family bible where Mary Ellen wrote the dates of the kids births and the dates where Albert and their youngest son Arthur died. It is believed that When Albert M. Provence died he was living in either Jack, Parker or Wise County Texas but unfortunately we have been unable to locate the cemetery where he (or his son Arthur) are buried. We do know where the graves of Albert and Mary's other three children (Rebecca, Frashier and Francis) are and they have been entered into find a grave with links to their father and mother.
We have just recently Feb 2021 found Mary Ellen's grave and she is buried in the EVERGREEN CEMETERY IN LOS Angeles Ca under the name of her third husband of Mary Ellen Davis. Mary died in 1938 and I have added her burial info in Find A Grave. Mary Ellen Fogarty, Furry, Provence, Davis was married three times, first to Peter Ruben Furry, (who she had 7 children with) Then to Albert M. Provence (she had four children with him), then the third time to a man known as George Davis (whose real name was Julius Gibbons) Mary had one child with him who was named George Davis and he went by that name his whole life) When Mary married Julius Gibbons he was using the alias name of George Davis because he had deserted from the U. S. Calvary in 1882. However by the 1920's he had reverted back to using his real name of Julius Gibons (or Gibbons) that's why Mary Ellen's last name went from Davis to Gibbons on the 1930 census. We know that Julius Gibons died in 1929 in El Paso Texas and is buried there . I also have Mary Ellen's and Julius Gibbons ( aka George Davis) death certificates.
