Louis J. Glatz Dies on Tuesday at Libertyville

Louis J. Glatz, 57, a former resident of Henry, passed away at a hospital in Libertyville, Ill., Tuesday morning after a brief illness.

Mr. Glatz was born in Henry on Jan. 4, 1898, and died on his 57th birthday. Death was attributed to pneumonia following surgery.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph's church, Libertyville, at 9:30 a.m. Friday. The McMurrough funeral home is in charge of arrangements and friends may call there until the hour of service.

Following the service at Libertyville the remains will be brought to the Brennan funeral home in Henry where friends may call on Friday evening.

Interment will be in Calvary cemetery at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The deceased was a member of St. Joseph's church at Libertyville and the parish Holy Name society. He was also a Third Degree member of Libertyville council, Knights of Columbus, and the Carpenters' Union.

Mr. Glatz followed the carpenter's trade in Henry and continued his work in that trade after moving to Libertyville, a few years ago. He was also associated for a number of years with the old Hutchins-Downey store in Henry.

He is survived by his wife and nine children, Mrs. Dorothy Shipton of Delavan, Mrs. Kathryn Nudo of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Mrs. Rita Cravens, Chillicothe, Louis Jerome of Mundelein, and Paul, Joe, Judy, Phillip and Ted, at home.

A son, George, preceded him in death.

He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Clara Damm and Mrs. Mayelle Nevitt, and a brother, Edward, all of Henry.
