ALBERT C. SCHAFER
Albert C. Schafer, 83, Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Urbana, died on Sunday, July 2, 1995.
He was born on Dec. 25, 1911, in Urbana, the son of George and Wilhelmina (Oelker) Schafer, Jr.
He was a 60 year member of the Masonic Fraternity, a member of Knights of the York Cross of Honor, had served as presiding officer of Harmony Lodge No. 7, F. & A. M., Urbana Chapter No. 34, Royal Arch Masons, Urbana Council No. 59, Royal & Select Masons, Commandery No. 19, Knights Templar, had served as secretary of Harmony No. 8 from 1973 to 1980, and was past president of the Urbana Rotary Club.
He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany of Urbana and served many years there as Senior Warden.
He was employed for 36-1/2 years by the W. H. Marvin Company in Urbana.
He is survived by his wife, Jean D. Schafer; a son and daughter-in-law, Albert C. and Beatrice Schafer, Englewood, Fla.; and two brothers, Clarence G. Schafer, Xenia, and George P. Schafer, Urbana.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, in the Walter-Schoedinger Funeral Home, Urbana.
Harmony Lodge No. 8 will hold a Masonic service at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, in the funeral home.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, with the Rev. Rick McCracken-Bennett officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery.
