Mrs. Woods died at 6:10 pm. on Friday (Dec. 18, 1987) at the Massena Memorial hospital, where she had been a patient since Dec. 5.
Surviving are seven sons, Joseph N. of Fort Smith, Ark., John of Syracuse, Jay of Rigby, Idaho, Jack of Massena, Jerry of Fort Smith, Ark., James of Massena, Jarel of South Hadley, Mass.; six daughters, Mrs. Dewey (June) Stewart of Florida, Joan Stewart of Westwego, La., Mrs. Ephraim (Joyce Gladding) of Massena, Jean Woods of Westwego, La.; Janice Dye of Fort Smith, Ark., Joy Carmen of Chicopee, Mass.; 57 grandchildren, 27 great-children; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Miles of Syracuse, Mrs. Viola Russell of Saratoga; three brothers, Howard Russell of Canastota, Sylvester of Saratoga, David of Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews. A son, Jeffrey, died in 1961.
She was born March 2, 1909, in Dickinson, daughter of Gilbert and Blanche Campbell Russell. She attended Dickinson schools and married Nelson Woods on June 5, 1927. He died in July of 1965.
